Club Committee

Stourbridge Swimming Club operates with a committee of parents that represent all groups and squads.

The aim of the committee members is to provide feedback from parents to the club leadership, and to support communication and decisions the club makes. We meet on a Monthly basis, so if you have any great ideas, or want to provide any feedback, then please seek out your parent rep, who will take this into the monthly meetings.

Volunteers

Michelle Smallman leads our group of essential volunteers. The club (like all swimming clubs) could not survive without the help of volunteers. Volunteers are required to help run swimming galas and competitions, with timekeepers, officials, announcers, door entry, team mangers, lifeguards and marshals to name a few!
We are continually seeking more volunteers, and anyone who thinks that they have a special skill that would benefit the club, and wants to get more involved, please let one of us know.

Social Committee

The club also has a social committee, led by Gayle Parry and Marcia Leigh. The main role is to help raise additional funds for the club, and support and organise additional events for the club. This includes arranging the Spring Prize Draw and the presentation evening, to name a few.
We organise the annual Christmas presentation disco and summer party where the children can socialise with their friends and meet new like minded people. We help out at the Crystal Open meet and the Junior Sprint meet by providing the catering for all the officials and helpers who give up their time to ensure these events are a success.

We also organise other social events and raise funds to help the club pay for the added extras, for example the trophies and medals for the club championships.

Sponsorship

The club is always looking for local businesses or individuals who can offer sponsorship or donations. If you know of anyone that can support, please let us know. An example of a recent donation has been some backstroke ledges, provided by a parent, and a further purchase of more will be available through a parents’ company donation. This type of donation really helps the club and the swimmers.

We are always looking for people to help – it could be selling raffle tickets, helping with events etc. We need you – without you, these events cannot take place.
